Sponge cake with pineapple in syrup

From AESEKOL today we want to offer you one of the many recipes in which we can use our canned fruits in syrup from the fantastic brand Oh!

Ingredients to make a sponge cake with pineapple in syrup

1 can of pineapple in syrup from Oh! Products

1 pineapple yogurt or plain yogurt

300g of flour

200g of sugar

50g butter or 40ml of oil

1 sachet of chemical yeast

4 eggs

Lemon or orange zest

For the caramel: 5 tablespoons of white sugar and water

2 tablespoons vanilla flavoring

Preparation

Before starting with the preparation, we recommend that you have all the products at room temperature so that this dessert turns out perfect and that you preheat the oven grind
before putting in the pineapple cake.

The first we can grate our lemon or orange zest to add it later to our recipe.

In a bowl, pour the melted butter and sugar, mixing until you have a homogeneous mass. Next we add the vanilla aroma and the eggs, mixing so that our dough is smooth and a perfect sponge cake comes out.

We continue adding ingredients, the yeast, the flour (sifted), the yogurt and the zest. So that there are no annoying clumps in our dough it is preferable to use an electric mixer. Our dough is ready!

But, we cannot forget our spectacular pineapple, which is what will make this recipe especially delicious. So in the previously greased baking tin with olive oil, and we make a base with a full layer of pineapple slices.

Then, on top we put a layer of caramel to make it compact and add our cake dough on top.

Once we have everything ready, we put it in the oven for about 40 minutes at 180ºC.

And let’s not forget to take advantage of the spectacular syrup! Once removed from the oven soak our cake with the syrup of our pineapple to give it the final touch. Let it cool for a few minutes and remove the mold leaving the pineapple chunks at the top side.
